The Future of the Fjords / Vision of the Fjords electric vessels both run a small café counter — coffee, cinnamon buns, sandwiches. Snacks, not a meal, but eaten through a UNESCO fjord.
Tied to Nærøyfjord
On the Nærøyfjord the destination is the boat ride itself, and the only food anywhere on the crossing is the café counter. The Future of the Fjords (a 2018 all-electric catamaran) and Vision of the Fjords (its 2016 plug-in hybrid sister), both built by Brødrene Aa in Hyen, run a small counter selling coffee, kanelboller (cinnamon buns), bottled water, and sandwiches — hot and cold, at fjord-boat prices. Your own food isn’t allowed aboard, so the counter is it. Don’t expect much beyond snacks.
The food is unremarkable. The experience of eating it on a near-silent low-emissions catamaran through a UNESCO fjord is not.
What we plan to try
A coffee and a kanelbolle, eaten on the open back deck so the photograph of the cliff walls overhead is taken between bites.
